Brian Carpenter is the worship leader for the 8:55am First Word contemporary service. Brian has served in this capacity since January of 2009 and helps provide Spirit-filled energy to our worship experiences. He attended Oral Roberts University and graduated magna cum laude with distinction in field from Little Rocks Philander Smith College in 2004. While at Philander, he was a member of the world-famous Collegiate Choir, receiving the Outstanding Leadership Award during his tenure.
Before coming to First Church, Brian sang with the Hoover United Methodist Church Choir for 3 years, serving as a section leader. He also has experience leading contemporary music at the Celebrate Recovery service at Fellowship Bible Church of Little Rock and Tulsas First United Methodist Church.
Brian has an amazing testimony of Gods grace in his life and has been a blessing to First Churchs Chancel Choir. Leading contemporary music has been one of Brians life-long dreams, and he is eager to grow the ministry of First Churchs First Word Service.
Brian currently also serves as Division Administrator for the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is married to Abbie Carpenter, and they are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Kennedy and Braylon.
